Very First Order from The Goulet Pen Company

I came across Goulet by random when I was looking for a conversion for the Kaweco Sport music I got from Jetpens. Goulet is solely a fountain pen site/store, while Jetpens is focused on all types of stationary, pens, pencils, book, etc. Goulet is like the mother site of anything fountain pen related. They have color swab, ink review, nib comparison... basically anything about fountain pens. Best of all are the ink samples you can buy. This way you try different inks without having to buy the full bottle and finding you don't like the color or property of the ink.

It took me a lot of going back and fore deciding what to get before making my first order. Their website is like a candy store for fountain pen users. I noticed after I made my order that I got a lot of blue.

Here is what I ordered:

  • Lamy Starter Set
    • Al-Star, Ocean Blue with the Extra-Fine Black nib
    • Lamy Blue/Black bottle ink
    • Rhodia no.16 dot grid, black cover note pad
  • Goulet Pen Cleaning Set
  • Ink Sample: Private Reserve Midnight Blue - Fast Dry
  • Ink Sample: Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-kai (Deep Sea)
  • Ink Sample: Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo (Moonlight)

Sorry for the not-so-great pictures. It is really hot(~100°F) where I'm at right now and I have no A/C.
My ordered arrived quickly and very secured.

Heavy duty protection

Found inside the box. Thanks Adam

My invoice. Thanks Alex Ross. The Lamy Starter set will definitely be loved. Also the Diamine Meadow is a very nice color. :)

It took a while to get the bubble wrap off and once I did, I was met with blue saran wrap.

It took a while to get the wrap off too.

The goods :D

Lamy have lifetime warranty which is awesome.

Ocean blue is such a nice color.

Nib close up

Extra fine

The Goulet cleaning set

The blue ink samples I got. It is kind of hard to see the difference. From what I see from the bottle: Tsuki-yo is lighter than the others, Midnight Blues looks more indigo-ish and Shin-Kai is very blue.... if that makes sense.

Lastly the Rhodia no.16 dot pad

Dot paper are the best.

I will most definitely order again from Goulet once I run out of my ink sample. I gonna get some other ink samples and will probably order a full bottle of the ink if I like it.
